This is already his third big loop. After two successful editions (white jersey, best youngster, in 2023 and stage victory last year), Cédrine Kerbaol, 24, returns by targeting the podium in the general classification. Each evening, the ef-oatly runner tells Liberty The stage of the day. This Sunday, July 27, she finished 18th at 11 seconds from the winner, the Spaniard Mavi García, during a second stage between Brest and Quimper. It is now 14th in the general classification.
“This weekend it was special, I was too happy to be able to run home in Brittany. Here, it’s a bicycle land, but people are not necessarily going to cross France to come and see us running. Today they didn’t need it.
“I really feel that there are more people on the roadside than in the years. Especially in the Cadoudal coast on Saturday, or in the last bump this Sunday, it was quite crazy. In Brest too, there was an incredible crowd, it was just huge. People realize that female cycling is also super nice to watch and that the scenarios are never really too written in advance.
“There are a few moments of respite in the race today, I was able to enjoy a bit. The first time we took the coast of the Chemin de Trohéir, I could see that all my supporters were there, thoroughly, on the right of the road. I was able to savor, I had a big smile. Well, when we took it back at the end, I also smiled, but it was more tension and suffering. It was more a grimace than anything else (laughs). There was also my name written in several places on the road. Many runners told me that they had seen it, it was madness!
“On the bike, I was fine. In the ribs, as I know there can be falls or breaks, I tried to put myself forward in the peloton. It allowed me to be in a certain comfort zone and to be safe, at my own pace. In summary it was a great day. Now it continues! “
