Thursday before, thunderstorms have already started to appear in several sectors of Quebec. With today’s stormy activity, hail may particularly hold attention, being one of the most likely manifestations, in addition to the high rain and important gusts of up to 90 km/h in places.

Most sectors in southern Quebec, along the river via Estrie, Beauce, the Capitale-Nationale, Bas-Saint-Laurent and until Gaspésie can see violent thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon.

Nevertheless, in the morning Environnement Canada has issued an alert for the Lac-Etchemin sector and the surrounding area, in Chaudière-Appalaches; Alert mentioning a very violent thunderstorm that can produce strong gusts, abundant rain and hail which can reach the size of a baseball ball. Indeed, at the heart of this cell of impressive hailstones were observed.

Note that this particularly dangerous stormy cell has now made its way on the other side of the American border, in Maine.
