What do scientists of these rabbits think of “tentacles” think?
If the managers of wildlife evoked a virus which causes these protuberances resembling warts and similar to the growths of benign cancer cells, they have provided details. In comments always reported by Demotivator, this August 14, 2025, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) explains that it is the virus of white papilloma.
After cats and dogs, this rabbit bar, located not far from home, invites you to consume your coffee differently
The latter actually provokes the formation of benign tumors, which are therefore these kinds of tentacles. CPW officials still warn because they believe that variants of this virus could spread throughout the Midwest of the United States. Scientists, however, specify that it is rare that the virus is transmitted through direct contact between rabbits.
So how can the virus spread? Thanks to mosquitoes and ticks, which bite infected rabbits and thus transmit the disease to healthy rabbits. Rest assured, there is no known case of this virus transmitted to humans by an insect.
Is it dangerous for rabbits?
According to scientists, the first symptoms of this virus are simple red spots that appear on the face of rabbits. They then become bumps, which are similar to warts. These will then transform into keratinized papillomas, which looks like small tentacles.
Be careful if you have a cat, a dog or a rabbit: these flowers and plants can be fatal for pets
This phenomenon does not seem to be dangerous for rabbits, although risks exist. Indeed, according to several British media, still mentioned by Demotivateurthese warts can evolve into an epidermoid carcinoma, a serious shape of skin cancer. Without treatment, it can therefore lead to the death of the rabbit.
These tentacles can also grow or develop in sensitive areas such as mouth and eyes. They can thus prevent the rabbit from feeding. In other cases, it also happens that these protuberances disappear on their own, without anyone really knowing why.
