For sending by post, it will be necessary to ship the official license plate provided with the logo of the DIV (the rear plate) to the address “Div – 1212 Brussels”. In order to avoid the costs of sending a package (count all the same minimum 5.15 euros in costs), it will be allowed to bend the plate in two in order to insert it in an envelope in A4 format, but formally prohibited to cut it. The date of cancellation will then be that of the opening of the envelope or the package by the div. If a plate should be struck off for the end of the month, it will be necessary to send it seven working days before the end of this month.
Finally, it will also be always possible to place the plate, without packaging, in a post office. Bpost staff will verify that it is indeed an official plaque and will give a deposit certificate mentioning the registration number. Thanks to the Track & Trace system, a notification will be sent as soon as the plate has been transmitted to the DIV cancellation service. This service offered by Bpost – formerly free – will now cost 17.99 euros.
2. Simplified procedure for registration of motorcycles, cyclos and speed pedelecs
The procedure for registering a motorcycle, a cyclo, a speed pedelec or a light tri-quadricycle having already been registered in Belgium will be simplified from August 1, said the SPF Mobility and Transports. This will allow users to save 12 euros.
Since 2023, a person wishing to register his motorcycle, his cyclo, his speed pedelec or his light tri-quadrcycle (less or equal to 125 cm3, 11 kW or 45 km/h) had to appear at the post office to cancel the previous registration certificate and receive a request form for a new plate.
From August 1, this passage to the Post will no longer be necessary. It will suffice to contact your insurer directly who may directly carry out the procedure for registration.

3. Pesticide prohibition in Brussels private gardens from August 1
There will be a change in the gardens: on August 1, 2025, insecticides, herbicides and other pesticides will be prohibited in individuals in Brussels.
In the large family of pesticides there are two categories: plant protection products intended to protect plants from pests and biocides which also kill harmful but for other uses than plant protection such as disinfectants, protective products for wood or fabrics or repellents (lice, fleas, mites …)
The new roller of August only targets the first category, pesticides dedicated to plant protection.

Only 26 products (especially 11 anti-tunes based on iron phosphate, insecticide and 7 fungicides based on potassium hydrogenocarbon) listed at low risk for health and the environment will still be authorized. Certain products whose main use is not gardening but which can be used there such as milk, vinegar or beer are always authorized.
The list of products still authorized can be viewed on the Brussels Environment site. It is larger for professionals to which other low -risk products are reserved not accessible to the general public.
Changes for the price of electricity in France
In France, the excise on electricity will decrease for small households from August 1, 2025, we can read in the French media. Large companies will on the contrary pay more. Concretely, the excise will go from € 33.70/MWh to € 29.98/MWh until December 31, 2025.
Note also that the VAT rate reduced to 5.5 % on gas and electricity subscriptions is now eliminated in France. Applied VAT will now be 20 %.
