Like every year, France celebrated its national holiday on this Monday, July 14. For the occasion, more than 7,000 soldiers, 100 planes and helicopters and 200 horses paraded on the avenue des Champs-Élysées this Monday morning. Relive the significant moments of this event.
Arrived at Place Charles-de-Gaulle, shortly after 10 a.m., Emmanuel Macron kicked off the July 14 ceremony held this Monday on avenue des Champs-Élysées, after having rekindled the flame of the unknown soldier and proceeded to the review of troops on board a military vehicle.
Some surprises this year
Under the Arc de Triomphe, Emmanuel Macron paid tribute to the soldiers who fell for France, in the company of young volunteers and veterans. Accompanied by the chief of staff of the armies, General Thierry Burkhard, both rose aboard a Vlra Command Car of Acmat, to start the review of the troops.
Escorted by the Cavaliers de la Garde Républicaine, Emmanuel Macron descended the Champs-Elysées, received the salvation of each regiment, especially in front of the Caesar cannons, the griffins or the centaurs who parade for the first time.
In the sky, the Patrol of France opened the air parade, followed by gusts, mirages and a Reaper drone which flies over the official gallery. Guest of honor, the president of Indonesia Prabowo suffered was able to admire alongside Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron the parade of Indonesian troops wearing their hats at the head of sharks.
Another novelty this year: the singers Ivar and Héloïse interpreted “We will be there”, the last title of Jean-Jacques Goldman, composed for the occasion, before closing this ceremony by the traditional Marseillaise.
