This Saturday, the sun intends to be present in Quebec, but thunderstorms also want to come and greet certain regions. See if stormy action can possibly break out in your sector this afternoon and evening.
A Saturday which reconnects with humidity a little
Those who like summer heat appreciate having it still served in mid-August. It is true that it is pleasant to last this summer impression as long as possible that does not want to leave … Well, this Saturday will appeal to these great “stretch” summer, with a mercury above 30 °, or very very, for sectors of the South and the center of Quebec! Feeling planned between 33 and 36, especially on the Montreal side, Mont-Laurier and Gatineau, do not compare themselves to recent heat thrusts.
In addition to heat, unstable time also tends to do it at its head in summer, especially in July and August, the two months of the most stormy year in Quebec. This Saturday also adopts the stormy trend, for certain sectors.
Program disturbances
Saturday morning, a cold front slides over northwest Quebec. The stormy action could thus start at the end of the morning for the Val-d’Or and Chibougamau sectors. During the afternoon, the risk of thunderstorms should become more and more present and these thunderstorms should also be stronger. In the evening, energy should still be well available to generate thunderstorm cells that could be important for certain sectors.
Along the front, showers and thunderstorms could register for the program for next night.
Wind hair
Unlike the most recent stormy cells that broke out on Quebec during warmer days, the heavy rain will not necessarily be the star today. The reason? The air is much less loaded with humidity. “Saturday in the afternoon and evening, it is mainly the winds that could particularly be violent which are to be monitored. Big hailstones could also be observed, in places, ”says Patrick Duplessis, meteorologist. More specifically, the system should notably come to appear on the side of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, the wildlife reserve of Vérendrye and the parent sector. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, even during the morning of Sunday, precipitation should make their arrival in the south and eastern Quebec.
There is not much that we can do it: we may chase thunderstorms, they always come back to gallop!
With the collaboration of Patrick Duplessis, meteorologist.
