RTL Info – murder in Arlon: a little fatal sentence to the medical examiner Philippe Boxho?

Expert in the Mélissa Ansel file, killed in May 2024 in Arlon, the practitioner spoke of the case in a French radio program. Maybe the sentence too much …

Philippe Boxho is a good customer. The media love it, snatch it and the doctor plays the game. He tells death with a disarming naturalness. His stories have been the subject of books which sell like hotcrossed buns.

Originally from Liège, Boxho is active in the province of Luxembourg where he is the only delicate doctor. It was even, for a year, around 2010, a legistist’s legalist, responding to the Diekirch prosecutor’s office when he needed his services.

Passing through Laurent Ruquier in the cult show “Les Big Têtes”, the specialist was asked, as the guests are often pushed to do so, to tell some anecdotes that have marked his journey. Boxho thus mentioned the murder of Mélissa Ansel. The facts took place on May 8, 2024 in the capital. Particularity of this crime, it was committed using a ball pen. The victim’s husband is suspected of having planted him in the heart after an argument that would have exploded against a backdrop of excessive consumption.

The presenter, listening to this story, is surprised that we can commit a crime with this kind of“armed”. He thought it was not possible. “Ah well me either”replied Philippe Boxho.

A little sentence heavy with consequences? A letter was sent by the suspect’s lawyer to the investigation to denounce this verbal projection.

The doctor is, in fact, out of his reserve duty in a file still under investigation. He explained himself to the police, confident that he did not know what he had the right to say or not. No doubt that the flow of requests does not help to sort between what can be spread out in the public square and what must remain secret.

Philippe Boxho told our colleagues from the Meuse that “From now on, it’s simple: I decided not to talk about what is in progress again”. It remains to be seen whether it will be challenged in the Mélissa Ansel file after this media outing.

Passing through Luxembourg last October, Philippe Boxho defended “Death opposite”, his third book from 300,000 copies. A dive into death surveys, accidental or not, people known or not at all.

With a certain pedagogy that makes his success, the medical examiner tries to demystify death, a subject still taboo for many. He had repeated about him without his knowledge a fortnight ago when two Dutch youtubers amateurs of Urbex have

penetrated into the Liège Legal Medicine Institute. The two men are suspected of having stolen skulls.
