Which garmin connected watch to choose? Our selection of best models
For the month of August 2025, the update announced by Garmin is rather extensive and will allow to recover functions from both the Garmin Venu X1 and Garmin Forerunner 570 sports watches and Forerunner 970.
The funest drop -down camera
Thought for athletes that for creative minds, the Insta360 X5 is the 360 ° reference camera in 2025. Its price falls of 169 euros on Aliexpress thanks to the BSFR100 code.
New measures for running
Concretely, the update will make it possible to extend the new running measures, inaugurated with the Garmin Forerunner 970 and 570, towards other Garmin watches. This is particularly the case for the race economy, racing tolerance, loss of speed of ground impact, racing time projection or automatic tracking detection on track. These functions will thus be available now on the X1 coming but also on the Fenix 8 range or the Enduro 3.
For its part, the intelligent awakening function, which will analyze your sleep cycles to wake you up at the right time, will land on more advanced sports watches. Initially proposed only on the Vivoactive 6 and the Venu X1, it extends to the Garmin Forerunner 570, Forerunner 970, Fenix 8 and Enduro 3.
More practical daily functions
Among the other new features, we can cite the arrival of the evening report – in addition to the morning report – which will take stock of the past day and give you sleep advice. The same goes for the new calculating application, for multisport training plans, for rucking activity or for automatic towers detection depending on the course of the race.
On the side of the GPS bike meters, the Garmin Edge 1050, launched last year, recovers several functions inaugurated by the Garmin Edge MTB. This is the case with the GPS recording in GHz, for better precision of the routes, the passage doors or the downhill race profile.
