The Samsung year is traditionally marked by two highlights: the launch, in January, of new “classic” Galaxy smartphones, then the summer presentation of folding devices. But if these devices occupy the front of the news, it should not be forgotten, generally in the fall, entry -level devices. Because they represent the bulk of the manufacturer’s sales.
The spotlights are on the high -end galaxy, but it is not they who boil the pot of Samsung. The real bestsellers of the Korean manufacturer are the entry-level models and among these, the Galaxy A1X size the lion’s share. According to Counterpoint, the Galaxy A16 5G launched last September was simply the Android smartphone which sold the most in the first quarter of 2024, with a 5th place behind four iPhone.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra, the first high -end Samsung in the ranking, is 7th. Just in front of him, there is another cheap model, the Galaxy A06 4G. Under these conditions, it is logical that the manufacturer is very caring for these entry -level devices. THE Galaxy A17which will undoubtedly be sold around the same rates as the Galaxy A16 (€ 249 per 5G version), is in pipes.
The site Android Headlines fell on several visuals of the smartphone, which will keep good borders and a thicker “chin” under the screen. Impossible to do miracles in this area, at these price levels. On the other hand, Samsung modifies the design of the camera block on the back, inspired by that of the Galaxy A35/A56. The chip also evolves: the engine of the Galaxy A17 should be an exynos 1380 (as on the Galaxy A54) in place of the Exynos 1330. Early benchmarks made with Geekbench display a score of 924 in mono-heart test, and 2,137 for the multi-core test-almost the same results as the exynos 1330. Embark a CPU of 8 cores, including six to 2 GHz and two to 2.4 GHz.
This new model should keep its predecessor the 6.7 -inch AMOLED screen (90 Hz), the dimensions (164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm) as well as the battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh with 25W charging. The photo block too would be the same: wide angle of 50 Mpx, ultra-large angle of 5 Mpx and a 2 mpx macro. Rumors not evoking storage or RAM, but you should expect (up to) 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
