Serious head injury: a 6 -year -old cyclist hit by a car in Montreal

A 6-year-old was taken to the hospital for a serious head injury on Saturday afternoon, after being struck by a car near the Ovila-Legaré park in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension district in Montreal.

Around 12:30 p.m., a call was made at 911 for a collision between a car and the young man who was cycling at the corner of the 51e Rue and rue Ovila-Légaré.

The motorist, a 69-year-old man, was driving on Ovila-Legaré in northern direction when the young cyclist crossed the street. Speed ​​and alcohol would not be involved.

The child was seriously injured in the head following the impact. It does not seem to have a protective helmet at the time of the collision.
