One million euros flew. This is the new affair that the investigators of the banditry repression brigade (BRB) find themselves faced after the burglary of an apartment in the 5th arrondissement in Paris.
The flight was reported this Wednesday, July 30, rue Amyot, by the owner herself. According to our information, the latter had left her keys to her mailbox before going on vacation for a period of two weeks. Upon his return, the consequences of this choice have a bitter taste: the victim’s home was searched and his jewelry, of an estimated value at one million euros, disappeared.
The circumstances of this flight are still vague. While a police source evokes with AFP a break -in, the Paris prosecutor’s office tells the Parisian that the mischief was well committed.
A source close to the file confirms that investigations are underway. The technical and scientific police went to the scene to fall under possible traces and indices. The magistrate, for his part, seized the case the brigade of repression of banditry (BRB).
An open investigation
This flight comes as the same day, a business manager and his wife were victims of two thieves on a train between Aix-en-Provence and Paris. Several jewelry and watches of major brands worth 300,000 euros (Cartier bracelet, a rolex watch, a Beers pendant, an emerald necklace, rings set with diamonds …) were stolen from their luggage deposited under their seats.
The investigation will have to determine if the victim has been targeted due to his richness or if the flight is the fruit of an unhappy chance. The BRB will also have to clarify the exact circumstances of the flight.
