New shootings broke out in the evening of this Thursday, July 10 in Nîmes. After the shots that targeted the Pissevin district this Wednesday evening, this time, the Mas districts of Mingue and Nemausus were targeted by gunshots.
Several dozen sockets found on the ground at Mas de Mingue
Around 10 p.m., the police are called for detonations on the side of the Ibrahim Al Khalil mosque, at avenue Monseigneur-Claverie. Upon their arrival, a man, aged about fifty, is on the ground, seriously touched by bullets and unconscious. Witnesses try to revive him by providing him with a heart massage.
Transported to the CHU Carémeau, in serious condition, the man unfortunately did not survive his injuries. For the time being, we do not know if the fifties were personally targeted or if it is a new collateral victim of these armed attacks. Another individual was also injured in the upper limbs. But his vital prognosis would not be committed.
On site, several dozen sockets were found on the ground as well as at the level of the victim’s car and on the facade of a building. In the evening, the police had installed a dam between the mosque and the Jean-Paulhan social and cultural center where the shots took place. Cécile Gensac, public prosecutor at the Judicial Court of Nîmes, went there. As for the authors of the shots, it would seem that they have arrived and left by car.

At the same time, other shots were heard on the side of the Nemausus sector, towards rue d’Aix. According to the first elements, two people have landed on a motorcycle and fired in the direction of shops, before fleeing.
This Friday morning, ball impacts are visible in the window and on the facade of one of the shops. The inhabitants, crossed in the morning this Friday, explain, they have heard anything. “I just saw police officers in the evening in the sector, but we are used to it because there is a lot of trafficking (of drugs) here. So I didn’t worry more “says one of them. No victim should be deplored.
Note that in the evening, two vehicles were found charred in the Pissevin district. According to the first elements, one of them could be the car that served the authors of Mangue Mas shots.
