Un plane which takes off in a disaster, civilians who hang on to its sides or its landing gear, trying in desperate momentum to flee the repression to come: we still all have in mind these images of Kabul airport, this August 15, 2021, when the Taliban power.

This has been completely dismantled and replaced by a system based on a rigorous interpretation of Islamic Sharia law. Crusted with inconsistencies, it is characterized by impunity for the Taliban and their allies, and arbitrary, inexpensive and closed trials for others. It is also defined by a discretionary power in the application of sanctions, such as flogging and public executions.
Arbitrary arrests, torture

While they actively occupied the functions of judges, procureures and lawyers before the Taliban’s return, most of them have since been forced to hide or go into exile after being removed from their functions.

Prohibited from access to the parks or to walk in the street without the presence of a male tutor (mahram), they are forced to submit or undergo a terrible repression. Those who revolt are victims of arbitrary arrests, torture and ill -treatment, forced disappearances or even forced marriages with Taliban officials, as a repair of their “faults”.
