Six human heads found on a road

This macabre discovery is a first in this region of Mexico, on a road in the center of the country connecting the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala.

Six human heads were discovered this Tuesday on a road connecting the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala, in central Mexico, announced the prosecution. This discovery, unprecedented in this region of Mexico, was reported by motorists and then confirmed by the Tlaxcala prosecutor’s office, where human remains were.

Another skull and human remains were also found in the city of Colima (west), police sources mentioned by local media said on Tuesday. The heads found in Tlaxcala belong to six men, said the prosecution on social networks, an investigation was opened. According to local media, a text found on site claims a settlement of accounts between rival bands specializing in gas theft.

Region exempt from violence so far

If criminal bands operating in drug and fuel trafficking have been denounced in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala, this region of Mexico has so far been exempt from this type of violence more frequent for more than ten years in the North and the Pacific Coast of Mexico where groups of drug traffickers operate.

On June 30, on a road from Sinaloa (northwest), 20 corpses were found, including five beheaded. Since the controversial launch of the war against drug trafficking in 2006, Mexico has recorded more than 450,000 homicides and 100,000 disappearances, according to official figures.
