Sophie Durocher loses her daily in Qub and inherits a weekly in LCN

As the back -to -school year approaches, which reconfigures its time grid. Sophie Durocher loses the daily life she animated in the afternoon. She inherits a new program of major interviews which will be broadcast on LCN on Friday evening.

The news was confirmed by Quebecor’s media on Tuesday. Recall that the programming of QUB has been broadcast on 99.5 FM waves since last year. Until this summer, Sophie Durocher hosted an hour -long show every day around 2 p.m.

The hearing figures had been starry since the beginnings. The various data compiled by the Numeris firm in the last months showed that Sophie Durocher and Richard Martineau’s emissions rallied significantly fewer listeners than the rest of the station’s time grid during the week.

It was announced Tuesday that Richard Martineau lived at the helm of the return program, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sophie Durocher will also be a collaborator there. The program she was driving just before in the middle of the afternoon was not renewed, however. The star columnist of Montreal Journal will animate in the fall In the white of the eyesa program of large one hour interviews that will be broadcast on Friday evening on the LCN news channel. The format will be akin to a filmed broom, it was said in the Quebecor media on Tuesday.

Marshal changes

In 99.5 FM, it is said to have wanted to build a “richer”, “more committed” and closer to the “concerns” of the listeners for this second season as a spoken radio.

Mario Dumont will be back at the helm of the morning. His show wins half an hour compared to last year. Benoît Dutrizac, the animator of QUB who made the largest increase in market share last year, will take over from 9:30 a.m. he will be on the waves until 1 p.m. Isabelle Maréchal, which could be heard at the end of the morning until this summer, changes time box. She will occupy the afternoon niche from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The fall program of 99.5 FM begins on August 25, two weeks after that of its main competitor, 98.5 FM.

Last spring, the 99.5 FM represented barely 3.3 % of the market share in Greater Montreal, far behind here (19.3 % of the shares) and the 98.5 FM (19.1 %). During the week, the station, however, made earnings for 25 to 54 year olds, the group targets advertisers.

CRTC complaint

The 99.5 FM is the property of Leclerc Communication. Since the fall of 2024, the antenna has been broadcasting the programming of QUB, the previously digital radio from Quebecor, under prime time, under an agreement between the two companies. This derogates from the regulations, according to Bell Média and Cogeco Média. The main players in the private radio in Quebec filed a complaint at the CRTC in November. A decision is expected soon. The current regulations prevent Quebecor from officially acquiring a radio station in Montreal, because the company already has a TV channel and a daily life.
