SpaceX: a tenth imminent flight for the Starship rocket: News

Friday, August 15, SpaceX unveiled the date of the next launch of its Starship rocket. It will be the tenth takeoff of the greatest rocket ever designed, after a series of failures.

And ten! According to information relayed by TF1 Info, SpaceX announced, Friday, August 15, that its Starship rocket will live a tenth launch Sunday, August 24, from the American company in Texas. For the moment, takeoff is planned between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. (Paris time). But it could be offset according to weather conditions, in particular. To follow the event, the space company plans to broadcast the launch on its website live and on the social network X via the @Spacex account.

A series of chess to correct

An announcement that comes as failures are linked for the greatest rocket ever designed. In January and March, its upper floor had exploded at the start of the flight, causing incandescent debris rains above the Caribbean and minimal damage.

More recently, she exploded in flight at the end of May, after having undergone a “quick unscheduled disassembly”, had written the company on X. The reason: a fuel leak which led to a loss of control and its explosion above the Indian Ocean, where it had to finish its race in a controlled manner. In June, an explosion during a ground test even questioned Elon Musk’s ambition concerning his Martian quest, scheduled for 2026.

That said, this is SpaceX’s strategy: multiplying flights to correct the problems encountered in flight situations. In this case, SpaceX had decided not to try to bring him back to his shooting step to catch him with mechanical arms – a spectacular maneuver that she alone masters. And it’s not about to stop. Indeed, the American aviation regulator (FAA) authorized the Elon Musk company at 25 takeoff per year.
