The Spanish socialists will expel from their party anyone who will have recourse to prostitution, the PSOE in power announced on Saturday, weakened by several scandals.

The government of the minority left coalition suffered a blow with the incarceration of Santos Cerdán, PSOE, for accusations of corruption. AFPSpanish policy experienced an earthquake with the placement in pre-trial detention on June 30 of the ex-N.3 of PSOE Santos Cerdán, in a case of wine pots in exchange for public works and prostitutes’ services.
“Solicit, accept or obtain a sexual act of a person in exchange for remuneration” will be punished with “the maximum sanction, namely the expulsion of the party”, according to a press release from the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) disseminated during the meeting on Saturday in Madrid of a Federal Committee of the Party which also announced to reshape its management.
“If we consider that the body of a woman is not for sale, there can be no room in our party for no contrary behavior,” said party secretary and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The meeting of the Federal Committee began late Saturday due to the resignation of Francisco Salazar, a close collaborator of Pedro Sánchez who was to join the new party leadership.
The online information site Eldiario.es reported complaints from socialist women accusing it of “inappropriate behavior” of a sexual nature when it was their superior.
During the meeting, the party reworked party management.
Santos Cerdán is replaced as number three by Rebeca Torró, a 44 -year -old lawyer who held various functions in the regional government of Valence and the central government.
“These are undoubtedly difficult days for everyone,” admitted the Prime Minister during his speech to the Federal Committee, once again asking for “forgiveness” for trusting people suspected of corruption.
Pedro Sánchez excluded any resignation: “The captain does not back down in the face of difficulties. He remains to face the storm, “he said before presenting” thirteen additional measures aimed at preventing, fighting and sanctioning corruption “.
The investigation which led to the incarceration of Santos Cerdán also implies the former socialist minister of transport José Luis ábalos.
The two men were key figures in the ascent of Pedro Sánchez at the head of the PSOE, until his coming to power in Spain.
Already poisoned by judicial inquiries targeting his wife, his brother and the country’s prosecutor, the Prime Minister has been going through his most complicated period since coming to power in 2018.
