SPVM survey | Six cases of bites at the Festival îlesoniq

Six cases of bites were reported to the Montreal police during the îlesoniq music festival. An investigation was opened in connection with these alleged cases of poisoning without the knowledge of the victims that occurred last weekend.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is currently investing in alleged cases of poisoning without the victims. These events would have taken place during the Îlesoniq music festival held at Jean-Drapeau Park last weekend.

The authorities report six cases for the moment. Each time, everything takes place without the victim’s knowledge according to the same operating mode. “The victims would have felt a strong bite in the rear part of the body when they were among the crowd. Subsequently, some of the victims, who are women and men, would have felt stunned, ”said the SPVM in his press release.

The SPVM requests the aid of the population in order for these events that occurred on August 9 and 10. Victims and witnesses are invited to contact 911 or their neighborhood post.

Police did not distribute more details concerning one or more suspects. It is not known whether the six events are connected. “At this point, it is premature to provide additional details on the current survey. Note that the security managers of the Îlesoniq and Evenko festival collaborate closely with the SPVM in order to advance the investigation. »»

Population reminder

The police force reminds the public to be vigilant during major cultural and festive rallies.

Witnesses and victims are invited to report any crime to the staff on sites.

“The SPVM also takes the opportunity to recall that within the framework of the trajectory project, launched by the Quebec government, any alleged victim of poisoning without his knowledge must go quickly to any hospital center for the sample of a urine sample,” said it. The hospital center will then make the link with the appropriate police service for the continuation of the procedures. The poisoning must take place in the last two days. Once this time has been exceeded, it is more difficult to detect substances that have been used.
