Marketed since 2023, the 1.2 Turbo petrol engine of Stellantis has been the subject of a recall of 238,000 vehicles in France for a defect that can cause an engine fire.
The successor to Puretech engines must already return to the garage. Since July 15, the Stellantis group has faced a new reminder of 238,000 vehicles in France equipped with its third generation engine marketed since 2023: 3-cylinder 1.2 Turbo petrol of 74 or 100 kW. However, the manufacturer wants to be reassuring, recalling the character “voluntary” of the operation, according to the objective of “Place customer safety and satisfaction at the heart of its values”.
This recall concerns a potentially dangerous defect: a fuel leak in the high pressure pipe between the high pressure pump and the injection ramp. The cause identified is an loosening of the nuts of the assembly of the fuel hose, resulting in a waterproofing defect. The consequences can be serious: overconsumption of fuel, and in the worst case, a risk of engine fire.

An intervention of less than 30 minutes
The intervention proposed by Stellantis to remedy this risk, consists in tightening the connections of the nuts on the high pressure pipe as well as the screws of the injection ramp. This free operation lasts less than 30 minutes, says Stellantis. If you are concerned, Stellantis will contact you by mail, indicating the procedure to follow: either contact the manufacturer’s network of dealerships to make an appointment.

- Peugeot: 149,157 vehicles (208, 308, 408, 2008, 3008, 5008)
- Citroën: 54,803 vehicles (C3, C4, C4X, C5 Aircross, C5 x)
- Opel: 15 263 Véhicules (Astra, Corsa, Frontera, Grandland X, Mokka)
- Fiat: 7,184 vehicles (600, Grande Panda)
- DS: 5,932 vehicles (DS3 Crossback, DS4)
- Jeep: 3,167 vehicles (Avenger)
- Alfa Romeo: 2,108 vehicles (junior)
- Lancia: 378 vehicles (Ypsilon)
This new reminder is added to a black series for Stellantis. In addition to the fiasco of PureTech engines, the group had to recall in early July, nearly a million vehicles equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDi diesel engine for camshaft chain problems, which can cause driving fits.
