About a million people gathered on Saturday in Zurich for Street Parade, described by its organizers as the largest techno event in the world. Under a summer sky and temperatures that reached 33 degrees, the party was held all day and in the night.
Authorities took a positive security assessment on Sunday. Police speak as every year of altercations, assaults or fights, but was not aware of the slightest serious injuries. A total of 48 people were arrested over the duration of the event, including 39 who did not live in Switzerland but had come for the occasion. A 20 -year -old young man was injured by falling from a window, 50 grams of cocaine and several hundred Ecstasy pills were seized.
On the health side, the emergency services carried out 757 interventions, a little more than last year, especially due to high temperatures. Just over fifty people had to be hospitalized. “As in previous years, most of the interventions concerned cuts and abchorships (199) and 159 interventions were linked to excessive alcohol consumption,” notes the rescue service.
