The vote was underway since Monday morning.
The latest contractual offers from the Crown COMPANY include in particular 13% wage increases over four years, bonuses at the signing and the addition of part -time employees to provide service.
“The members have now clearly made the employer understand what our negotiation teams repeat to him from the start: the offers are not up to the task,” the STTP said by press release.
The union believes that the employer does not negotiate “seriously” and that he must negotiate more collective agreements.
For his part, Posts Canada said he was “disappointed” from the results, but wishes to “thank” the employees for their “participation in the process”.
“However, it means that uncertainty, which has already stuck in our business and harmed the many people and companies that count on Canada Posts, will continue,” it was said in a statement.
The post company says it is thinking about the “next steps” following this ballot.
The vote was administered confidentially by the Canadian Council for Industrial Relations.
