Soft mobility
Pedal Broye for a good cause
Fourteen municipalities are launching a cycling challenge to encourage the use of cycling. It is a question of accumulating points in order to win a prize.
The Broye region is launching a one -month cycling challenge to encourage the use of cycling on a daily basis, as the municipality of Moudon announces in a press release published on August 6, 2025. Fourteen municipalities participated in the Cyclomania action, organized by Pro Velo, with the objective of promoting soft mobility in a fun and stimulating setting.
The municipalities of Payerne, Estavayer, Moudon, Belmont-Broye, Avenches, Vully-les-Lacs, Valbroye, Cugy, Saint-Aubin, Fétigny, Grandcour, Faoug, Vallon and Ménières invite their inhabitants to move as often as possible by bicycle or on foot during the month of action. Participants accumulate points for each trip, allowing them to win prices. The initiative also allows authorities to collect valuable data on soft mobility in the region.
A challenge between municipalities
The Cyclomania challenge operates as a friendly competition between the participating municipalities. The winning town will be the one with the greatest number of participants and the most ended challenges, in proportion to its resident population. This formula not only encourages individual participation, but also the community spirit.
The award system includes three stage prizes automatically allocated to participants who reach 15, 30 and 45 points. A main price will be drawn among all those who have obtained the maximum number of points at the end of the challenge.
The municipalities organize various events during the month of action to support the participants. These activities include bicycle review services, the discovery of cycle routes from the region and meetings between participants. These initiatives aim to facilitate the practice of cycling and to create a collective dynamic around soft mobility.
More information is available on the site of the event.
