These world swimming championships in Singapore will remain in the annals. But not the lose. Between the two gold medals of Maxime Grousset on butterfly, and the two of Léon Marchand on 200 and 400m 4 swimming, we had our share of disappointment. But obviously, this quadruple humiliation in Mondovision was not enough for Léon Marchand. It was necessary to maintain even more the head of the FFL underwater, even when the Worlds in question are finished.

Indeed, with its golden charms and its new world record on 200m 4 swimming, the Toulousain received the trophy of “best swimmer from the Worlds”. An insult brought to our aquatic section, and more broadly to our federation. Afterwards, if you want to know if we are surprised, the answer is obviously negative. We have understood that during each international swimming competition, we will not have the right to happiness. And this over the next decade, at least.
