Swiss wheat and bread museum – Vaud

On four floors, you will discover the living history of wheat and bread. From the farmer to the miller and from the baker to the consumer, a whole agricultural and craft life is exposed: machines, hand and techniques have thus reviewed a collection of objects collected over the years.

A museum that devours

And to avoid falling into the petrin, a guided tour on smartphone or tablet is available. This audioguide reveals in 31 stages all the secrets of the museum. The children, on the other hand, will follow Ti’grain along a tailor -made didactic and fun course.

Better still, on the first floor, we will find all the traditional Vaudois costumes as they wear and must be worn. At the end of this surprising visit, you will know everything about the many cereals that make our daily bread: barley, rye, wheat and cie.

Bread, braid and brunch at Bon Pain

Better yet, you will crunch in a still warm Miche, thanks to the two overall ovens of the Bon Pain bakery-pastry shop, which shares its walls with the museum. You can also put your hand in the dough (and the dough by mouth) by making your own braids.

An absolutely gargantuan brunch based on delicious products is also served at the Tea-Room the Fournil de Cérès every day except Monday for 33 fr. per person. A real boon to start the day off right!

A stage of the wheat path

You can also make the museum a stage of the Blés chemin: a marked pedestrian path over a hundred kilometers to the discoveries of 38 villages typical of the Vaud region.
