The 20 -minute and morning staff.ch mobilized Thursday morning at the Geneva and Lausanne station. A petition was distributed to passers -by to protest against the restructuring plan for the publisher TX Group, who provides for the abandonment of the paper newspaper and the abolition of dozens of positions.

Titrated “Take 20 seconds to save 20 minutes”, the petition recalls that the paper version of the daily life is threatened with disappearance from January 1, 2026. As for the digital version, it will only count around 20 people, against 60 currently, says the petition. This restructuring will deprive “a large part of the population of simple, fast and free access to information”, underlines the text.
According to the unions who participated in this operation, the employees mean by this action “to denounce the incessant dismantling of the press, to defend their jobs, their newspaper, their profession, and to affirm their commitment to their readership.”
TX Group announced this reorganization on June 17. In addition to the disappearance of the paper format for 20 minutes and its German -up 20 minute, the editors will be grouped in a national drafting distributed between Lausanne, Bern and Zurich, resulting in the closure of several regional offices.
Subject to the results of the consultation procedure, which is not yet completed, these various measures could result in the abolition of a maximum of 80 full -time positions. For TX Group, this reorientation is necessary to respond to “rapid evolution of media uses and the continuous decline in income from printing”.
