In the German commune of Bohmte, a car struck the roof of a barn and remained stuck there. Previously, the car struck a boy who played on a trampoline in a garden, a police spokesman said on Sunday. The seven -year -old was seriously injured. The five occupants of the car also suffered injuries.
According to the first observations of the police, the car left a road in the Osnabrück district on Saturday around 8 p.m. The car first hit a parking car before crossing a hedge. The vehicle then continued its race towards a garden of a neighboring house, located below, where it also hit the trampoline on which was a child.
The vehicle was probably thrown into the air by bumps on the ground and hit the barn about three meters high, the police spokesman said on Sunday about the accident.
Four children injured in total
According to police, a family made up of the 42 -year -old driver, his 43 -year -old wife and their two sons of 11 and 12 years old was in the car. A 13 -year -old boy was also in the car. The woman would have been seriously injured in the accident. All the other occupants were slightly injured. They were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The causes of the accident are not yet clear. It can be excluded that alcohol has played a role, the police spokesman said. A blood sample was taken from the driver and his driving license was confiscated.
“Exceptional intervention”
Images taken at the place of the accident show a scene of desolation: branches of trees in a garden had been torn off, broken tiles littered the lawn. The trampoline was destroyed.
“The intervention is very exceptional, of course,” said a spokesperson for firefighters in front of the car who has embedded in the house wall for several meters. In order to be able to assess the solidity of the building, the firefighters concerted with a specialist.
