The last stage of the Tour de France Sunday attracted up to 8.7 million viewers on France 2, the level “the highest for the Tour for 20 years”, welcomed this Monday France Télévisions.
Won for the fourth time by the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, the Grande Boucle went to Paris by the Montmartre Butte in front of a phenomenal crowd, reviving the atmosphere of the 2024 Olympic Games, before a final on the Champs-Elysées.
“A historic record”
The Mantes-la-Ville/Paris stage was followed by 5.2 million viewers on average, or 42.7 % audience shares, “best audience for a final stage since 2011”, also underlined France Télévisions in a press release, taking over mediammetry figures.
Overall, 45 million French people watched the turn more than a minute this year, “a historic record and 4 million more than in 2024”, according to the public group, which broadcast “more than 150 hours of direct on linear antennas (France 2 and France 3, editor’s note) and the France.TV platform”.
The most watched stage of this edition was that of July 14 between Ennezat and Mont-Dore, with 5.4 million viewers on average (49.8 % audience shares). Bike enthusiasts can continue to follow this week the Tour de France women, whose departure was given on Saturday in Vannes (Morbihan).
