In a letter, the American ambassador to France, Charles Kushner, denounced this Sunday, August 24 “The absence of sufficient action” President Emmanuel Macron against anti -Semitism, joining the criticisms of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The ambassador, recently appointed to this post in May 2025, expressed in this missive “His deep concern in the face of the outbreak of anti -Semitism in France”.
These criticisms come a few days after a violent burden of Benjamin Netanyahu against the French president whom he accuses “To feed anti -Semitic fire” by calling for “International recognition of the state of Palestine”. In his letter, dated on Monday, the American ambassador takes up the argument of Benjamin Netanyahu. “Declarations that vilify Israel and gestures in recognition of a Palestinian state encourage extremists, foment violence and jeopardize Judeity in France”believes Charles Kushner, also father of Donald Trump’s son -in -law, Jared Kushner.
“Today, it is no longer possible to procrastinate: anti -Zionism is anti -Semitism, point”he believes.
According to the ambassador, “There is no day in France without Jews being attacked in the streets, synagogues and degraded schools, and companies belonging to vandalized Jews. The Ministry of the Interior of your own government notes that nursery schools have been targeted by anti -Semitic damage ”.
The representative of the United States in France is also indignant that “Almost half of young French people say that he has heard of the Shoah”. “The persistence of such ignorance therefore pushes us to question the school program in the schools of France”he adds.
