The ONE UI 8 update provides optimizations, corrections and new features welcome to Samsung smartphones. But a very specific change can raise questions about its relevance.

The update to one UI 7 barely had time to be deployed, that Samsung began to make beta for one UI 8, the version of its overlay based on Android 16. Over the builds, we learn more about the new features brought by One Ui 8, which should soon arrive in a stable version on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 expected for July. But a change may not be unanimous.
As spotted by SamMobilethe manufacturer has made a curious choice in the Audio settings of One UI 8. When the smartphone is connected to Galaxy Buds, the user no longer has access to the sound options in mobile in Settings> sound and vibrations> Quality and sound effectsbut only to those of wireless headphones. We are thus automatically redirected to the Galaxy Wearable application, preventing configuring the audio settings of the smartphone itself.
Samsung forces the integration of Galaxy Wearable in the Audio settings of One UI 8
A decision that may seem strange. If you want to modify the audio settings of its headphones, you can go to the dedicated app for this. Why want to prevent us from adjusting the audio of your device for later when you have the headphones in your ears? Maybe Samsung believes that some people are wrong and go to the wrong place to configure their headphones. In this case, it would have been more judicious to inform the user and leave him the choice: stay in the mobile settings or open Galaxy Wearable.

SamMobile said this modification is present in the latest beta version of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25+ Galaxy and Galaxy S25 Ultra. On a Galaxy S23 Ultra under One UI 7, the change is absent. It remains to be seen whether this novelty will be well integrated into the final version of One UI 8. We will be quickly fixed.
