Outdoor. New tracking cards appear in the Boisé-de-la-Marconi nature reserve. These will also be integrated into the Ondago mobile application, announces the city of Drummondville.
These cards, installed at the various reserve entries and at neural points of the trails network, facilitate the orientation of walkers, runners and cyclists throughout their route. This initiative aims to meet the needs expressed by the population. The city expresses, in a press release, its desire to make its green spaces more accessible, safe and pleasant.
“The quality of life also involves simple and pleasant access to nature,” emphasizes Stéphanie Lacoste, mayor of Drummondville. With these new cards and their integration in Ondago, we simplify the experience of users while encouraging physical activity outdoors. This is another beautiful advance for families and outdoor lovers from our home. ”
Connected experience
Thanks to the ONDAGO application, available for free on smartphones, citizens can now consult the interactive card of the nature reserve, even without internet connection. Once downloaded, the card remains accessible offline, a considerable advantage in a wooded environment.
Integrated geolocation also allows users to view their position in real time on the map, thus facilitating their movements and strengthening the feeling of safety.
Partnership
This interactive mapping project was carried out in collaboration with Drummond Outdoor. “At full air Drummond, it is believed that nature is a place of gathering and resources,” says Alex Faucher, director general of the organization. By making our trails more accessible and better marked, we invite even more people to take full advantage of it, independently. ”
The addition of these cards and the integration of Boisé-de-la-Marconi on Ondago is part of a series of city initiatives which aim to improve the quality of the outdoor experience on its territory. For the municipal organization, this is one more step towards an active, green and inclusive city.
More details are available on the City of Drummondville website. Citizens with a smartphone can download the Ondago application for free on the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android phones).
