After the show of the National Day on the Plains of Abraham, the rain will also have been right for the Protocol Ceremony of the Canadian Festival, which was to take place at 11 a.m. on the Dufferin terrace, in Quebec.
The lifting of the flag by the 2e Royal Battalion 22e Regiment has been canceled, as is the parade and speeches of the dignitaries.
The traditional cake emphasizing the birthday of Canada will nevertheless be always distributed, at noon, to passers -by who will have decided to move despite the bad weather.
We have B plans. We are lucky anyway because we have a party that spreads throughout the day. We will surely have clearings

We keep the distribution of the cake. We have a huge cake for thousands of portions. It will be distributed from Château Frontenac, on the Dufferin terrace. It’s free.
Holds maintained
Aside from the protocol ceremony, the rest of the programming remains unchanged for the moment. After the distribution of cake, the public is invited to go to the plains of Abraham, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., for a series of activities, including several kiosks, family shows and inflatable games for children.
In the evening, Maxime Landry and Annie Blanchard will present their show at 8 p.m. The country of our idols. Will follow an immersive laser show which now replaces the traditional fireworks, set aside for environmental reasons.
Producer Louise Harvey also notes a revival of popularity for Canada’s Day in Quebec due to tensions with the United States and President Trump’s speech to make Canada on 51e US state.
There is a craze, we feel it. We have never felt so many Quebecers feeling Canadians.
