The Minister’s candidacy for women and women’s rights (MCFDF), Pedrica Saint-Jean, was accepted by the organizing committee to the vice-president of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Cepalc). The announcement was made at the end of the 16th regional conference on women in Latin America and the Caribbean, held from August 12 to 15, 2025.

Indeed, the acceptance of his candidacy for the vice-president of CEPALC, according to a note from the ministry, marks an important step for Haiti in the regional field of governance on gender equality. This intergovernmental conference of the region on women’s rights and gender equality allowed to analyze the situation of women, to assess public policies and to adopt collective commitments.
The Haitian delegation, led by Minister Pedrica Saint-Jean, presented the advances carried out, the national challenges and prospects for women’s condition and rights. It should be noted that the 2025 edition, organized in coordination with UN Women, ended with the commitment of Tlatelolco, which launched a decade of action ranging from 2025 to 2035, to advance gender equality and transform the social organization of care.
