The chances of social mobility remain high in Switzerland

Nestlé Switzerland announced on Monday the appointment of a new managing director in the person of Cédric Boehm. He will take the reins of the Swiss subsidiary giant on September 1. This announcement follows a series of changes at the top of the group.

Entering the Veveysan group in 2005, Mr. Boehm has been director of Nestlé Austria since February 2022, a statement said. He was notably responsible for operations for Serbia and Montenegro, director of operations for Switzerland and Austria and led strategic planning in the Europe, Middle East and North Africa zone.

He will succeed Eugenio Simioni who retired early after 36 years of service within the company. “He will devote himself to advisory activities and independent administrator mandates,” he said. Boss of Nestlé Suisse twice over ten years, Mr. Simioni was previously in the management of the group’s internal audit as well as communication and public affairs of Nestlé worldwide.

“Lighter steering structure” ___

Recently, the chairman of the board of directors Paul Bulcke said that he will not request the renewal of his mandate during the general meeting of April 16, 2026 after 50 years of service. His current vice-president Pablo Isla, former boss of Inditex, was proposed to succeed him.

As of January 1, management was reworked. The Latin America area (LATAM) and the North America area (NA) merged to form the Americas (AMS) area, led by Steve Presley. The Grande China area (GC) is now part of the Asia, Oceania and Africa (AOA) zone, under the direction of Remy Ejel.

Anna Lenz, previously responsible for Nestlé Portugal, directs human resources. David Rennie has become responsible for strategic business units (SBUS), marketing and sales, incorporating Nestlé coffee brands except Nespresso. At the same time, Philipp Navratil, at the head of the unit devoted to the famous coffee capsules, joined the general management, and Nestlé Health Science remained under the direction of Anna Mohl.

Last October, the Managing Director of the Laurent Freixe group spoke of a “lighter management structure and close collaboration between its members based at the headquarters which will facilitate and accelerate decision -making”.

The Nestlé group, whose headquarters are in the canton of Vaud and has nine production sites in Switzerland, recorded sales of 91.4 billion francs in 2024. It has some 8,500 employees in its ranks.
