Spotted for its artistic productions and its collaborations with big names in cinema, music and fashion, Blanca Li had taken in July 2024 the reins of the Villette, crowned with a popular reputation, which was fine with the vocation that is both sharp and general public of the establishment. However, the choreographer had never managed a national choreographic center. And its passage through the management of the Teatros del Canal, in Madrid, was notably marked by a controversy on the possible censorship by the very conservative regional government of a work by the Spanish playwright Paco Bezerra.
