Extension of the MTB pilot project
Set up in May 2024, the pilot project concerning the circulation of off-road vehicles and all-terrain vehicles (mountain bike) in the Saint-Charles sector has just been renewed for another period of one year. This will come into force on August 22.
At the end of a first year, and in the light of a survey with residents as well as favorable opinions from the Sûreté du Québec and the traffic committee, the pilot project is renewed under the same conditions, the traffic allowed at 30 km/h, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., over fifteen residential streets in the sector.
The objective of this pilot project is to supervise circulation thanks to speed limits, defined hours and an awareness campaign inviting to courtesy and respect for the peace of the residents. The regulations also allow the Patrouilleurs de la Sûreté du Québec to award reports of offense in the event of non-compliance with the rules.
