In the aftermath of the Montesquiou forest fire, the Gers firefighters were once again called for a fire this Thursday, August 14. In the middle of the afternoon, an electric cable fell at a place called Caillau, in the town of Lauraët, which caused a fire.
About 200 round hay boots were ignited in a field, 50 meters from a home. About twenty Gers firefighters were sent to the area, where the wind is weak. The risks of propagation were, at 4:20 p.m., during treatment and the fire head was stopped. A small 5 m² greenhouse was unfortunately destroyed by the flames.
Two rural tanker trucks, a forest fire truck, a large capacity tank cell, a group leader and a second specializing in forest fires, a rescue vehicle for victims and a firefighter went to the scene. The Enedis teams are also committed.
