The four victims of the Iranian missile impact at Beer Sheva were in shelters

The four victims of the Iranian missile who landed Tuesday morning on a Beer Sheva house building were in reinforced shelters (Mamad) at the time of the impact, according to the preliminary investigation carried out by the command of the internal front. On the 12th day of the operation “Wake up the lion” began Tuesday morning with the announcement of a ceasefire, but shortly before its entry into force, and even after this one, several salvas of missiles were drawn from Iran to Israel.

Consequently, a several storey building in Beer Sheva was affected directly, causing the death of four people (two men and two women) and making 20 injured, two of whom in moderate state with loss of consciousness, all the others being slightly injured.

As mentioned, the preliminary investigation of the inner front command reveals that the four victims were in reinforced shelters, apparently in two adjacent apartments. It should be noted that three neighboring buildings were damaged by the shock wave and civilians were evacuated to medical centers for the continuation of care.

Commander of the South District, Commissioner Haim Bublil, who was at the scene of the incident, explained that research continues that there is no report of missing persons. “We want to be sure, there is a fear of collapse, but research is carried out in a controlled manner,” he said.

As mentioned, firefighters and combatants of the interior front command rescued several civilians in the rubble in the city of Beer Sheva and its surroundings. Finally, the district commander asked not to go to the scene of the incident. “There are hundreds of civilians here, it is dangerous and it disrupts the work of the police-do not come here, it is important to keep the traffic lanes released,” he said.

Despite the flagrant violation of the ceasefire, the government has published an official declaration in which it specifies that it has accepted a bilateral cease-fire: “Given the achievement of the objectives of the operation, and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel accepted the president’s proposal for a bilateral cease-fire.” He added that “Israel will forcefully respond to any violation of the ceasefire.”
