The Government of Canada improves access to health services for French -speaking communities in a minority situation

Today, the Honorable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, accompanied by the Honorable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, MP for Moncton – Dieppe, announced funding of more than $ 78 million over five years to seven years, including five post -secondary education establishments in the Atlantic region, in order to improve access to French health services for French -speaking communities.

These investments will support innovative projects aimed at improving French health services within the framework of the program for official health languages (PLOS). Initiatives include improving access to care, recruitment, internships and investment possibilities in French -speaking communities, as well as training in French -speaking health studies programs.

The Government of Canada will continue to work with its partners in order to improve access to health services for all, including services in the official language of their choice.
