The heat wave extends throughout Switzerland

Due to the heat wave, the Confederation decreed the second highest level of danger (3 out of 4) in a large part of Switzerland from Sunday. Temperatures up to 35 degrees are expected in the coming days.

While the plains of southern Alps, Valais and the Lake Geneva region are already affected by a heat wave on Saturday, it will also reach the other low-altitude regions throughout the country on Sunday, announces Météosuisse on Saturday on its website.

Temperatures should thus reach 32 to 34 degrees in the coming days south of the Alps, with relative humidity up to 55%. Even at night, the temperature should no longer descend below 20 degrees.

In the plains of German -speaking Switzerland, temperatures of 33 degrees are expected from Sunday, and up to 35 degrees in the Basel region. Relative air humidity could reach 30 to 45%. Minimum temperatures should be between 17 and 21 degrees and be higher in urban areas.
