Neuchâtel entrepreneur Boris Petitpierre, who had sold the family business to the Jura group Acrotec and withdrew from management at the start of the year, died in his 60th year. According to the announcement published Wednesday in Arcinfo, the industrialist died of a cardiac arrest that occurred in Portugal.

(Keystone-ATS) “It is with immense sadness that the group learned of the sudden and brutal death of Boris Petitpierre, historic figure of the watchmaking industry and emblematic director of Petitpierre SA, a company he led for more than 30 years with passion, vision and humanity,” said Acrotec, specializing in the micro -mechanical of precision.

“Man of conviction, heart and commitment, Boris was recognized for his proximity to his teams, his communicative joie de vivre, his always benevolent humor, but also for his unwavering loyalty to his collaborators, his partners and his values. Boris was much more than a manager: he was a builder, a faithful traveling companion and a sincere friend, “said François Billig, managing director of the group, quoted in the press release.

Involved in governance

The Petitpierre company, founded in 1973 by Freddy Petitpierre and based in Cortaillod and Boudry (NE), was taken over by his son Boris in 1998.
