In this peaceful and hot August evening, a handful of tourists stroll on the great lawns of the National Mall, where the main American political institutions are concentrated. Washington DC looks more like a large, summary administrative city than criminal dystopia described by Donald Trump. A few hours earlier on Monday, August 11, the American president, however, took drastic measures, announcing the supervision of the local police and the deployment of the National Guard. “I am announcing a historical action to save the capital of our country from crime, bloodshed, chaos, misery and worse. It is the day of the release in Washington, and we will resume our capital ”proclaimed Donald Trump at a solemn press conference at the White House.
