Make way for the 16th GP of the season in Lommel this weekend, a Belgian route which will also host the final of Europe 125cc as well as the only test of Open Europe. More than 220 pilots are expected for this last straight line.
No big surprise in the MXGP category: regulars will be present. Tim Gajser and Pauls Jonass will miss the call, but we will witness the return of Jeffrey Herlings in Lommel. The Dutchman could well come to interrogate between Lucas Coenen and Romain FEBVRE – once again – while only 10 points now separate the two championship leaders after the GP of the Czech Republic. The red plate could even change hands this weekend.
We will also note the return of Håkon Fredriksen on the track. The Norwegian pilot, who has gone through many events in recent years, recently distinguished himself at the Adac de Tensfeld by winning two of the three heats, beating in particular Nagl, Langenfelder (in 250cc), Van de Moosdijk and others. He will be present in Lommel, just like the Dutch Nick Leerkes, Boris Blanken, Mike Bolink and Michel Hoenson.

In MX2, Rick Elzinga (wounded with a finger before Loket) returns this weekend, but Liam Everts (hit in the sacrum in Finland) will be still absent. The announcement of the composition of the Belgian team for the MXDN should therefore be repelled, the staff preferring to wait to see the level displayed by Liam on his return, expected in Sweden in two weeks. Also note the return of Lotte Van Drunen in MAND2 MAND2, after its pige of Arco Di Trento at the start of the year. Last year, she scored a point in the second round in Lommel. This time, the grid will be complete and the task even more difficult for the reigning WMX world champion.
Several freelancers from Europe 250 will also be there: Mads Fredsoe, Nico Greutmann, Maximilian Werner, Bradley Mesters, Liam Owens, Nicolai Skovbjerg, Pelle Gundersen or even Gyan Doensen, who will make his debut in MX2 in Belgium.
In the championship, Simon Langenfelder is now 47 points ahead of Andrea Adamo, who will have to limit the breakage, he who has never really shone in the sand of Lommel. Kay de Wolf, on the other hand, will imperatively have to sign a big weekend to stay in the running for the title: the official Nestaan Husqvarna accused 59 points behind the red plaque with six events from the end of the season.

With more than 65 engaged, it will be necessary to pass the qualifications to compete in the rounds of the unique event of open Europe, a category in which we will find a handful of French people including Tom Guyon (who tries the SX and the 250 for the sand and the 450), Adrien Petit (who would then return to Europe and refine his preparation for the sand), Matheo Miot, or even Alexandre Viltard. Last year, Jakub Teresak won the title in front of Jeere Haavisto, two boys who will be on track again like Gert Krestinov, Federico Tuani, Elias Escandell, Marcel Conijn, Sven Van der Mierden or Micha Boy de Waal, to name a few sand specialists. We will witness the final of Europe 125 this weekend in Lommel, with a title to the key to Nicolo Alvisi or Mano Faure. The Italian and the French stand in 6 small points before this final test. The winner will succeed Noel Zanocz, while Mano Faure will try to make the double world/Europe after his victory for Romagné in early July. Besides Mano, Leo Diss-Fenard, Kenzo Feraz and Sleny Goyer are registered on the list of committed for this 12th (!) And last opus of the season.
