In Geneva, the parking lot crosses the border. For the first time, it offers a P+R parking offer in France, associating with the French partner SPF innovation territory (Terrinnov). As of this fall, 130 P+R places will be available in Ferney-Voltaire (Ain).
(Keystone-ATS) This initiative in Ferney-Voltaire is only a first milestone, the parking lot was found on Friday. The intention of the autonomous public establishment, whose mission is to build and operate car parks, is to develop a parking offer P+R outside the Canton of Geneva up to 2000 subscriptions by the end of 2028.
This first partnership piloted by the parking lot is perfectly written in the strategy of the Health and Mobility Department (DSM) consisting in proposing concrete measures to reduce the nuisances linked to the increase in traffic, notes the State Councilor Pierre Maudet, quoted in the press release.
The magistrate also intends to activate other levers to combat the engorgement of the road network. He recalls that more than 100,000 parking spaces are now offered by Geneva companies to their employees. The DSM intends in particular to optimize the use of these private infrastructure and better guide the choices of mobility of the pendulum.
