The Liège tram was indeed involved in a new road accident. A young woman was overthrown by the latter, at the Marengo stop located Quai Saint-Léonard. Information confirmed by the Liège police who were dispatched to the square, in order to ensure security near the accident and draw up observations.

An ambulance as well as the firefighters came to the aid of the victim who was taken to the hospital. “His days are not in danger, the incident was relatively light,” said the Liège police spokesman.

The circulation of trams towards the standard has been temporarily interrupted and a deviation was put in place the time to restart the system. In the early morning, traffic had resumed.

Vigilance

According to witnesses to the scene, the victim did not look before crossing the rails. A version that should be confirmed by the prosecution, responsible for investigating the circumstances of the accident. Surveillance cameras will be analyzed.

A new incident that demonstrates once again that the Liège tram has not yet entered the habits of Liège pedestrians and drivers.

Although it has been circulating for several months now, many people forget it and do not bother to look in both directions before crossing. However, unlike cars and two-wheelers, the tram always has priority, even on pedestrians, and it is more difficult for it to brake to avoid a collision.
