The Spotify reading lists of Sam Altman and JD Vance publicly exhibited

It is less a safety flaw than a dumpling: it is possible to know the musical tastes of any user of Spotify, if they did not affect a confidentiality option. A site lists the favorite songs of several American personalities.

Did you know? By default, the reading lists created in Spotify are in public access. Therefore, by looking a little, it is possible to consult the playlists of any user of the streaming service if the latter has not changed the adjustment. And this is often the case!

What is the boss of Openai listening to?

The site Panama Playlists has published the public reading lists of personalities, in particular JD Vance, the American vice-president! We learn for example that he listens to the backstreet boy when he cooks. Sam Altman, the boss of Openai, sought Shazam the song ” I Don’t Wanna Wait From David Guetta and OnePublic, which corresponds to him quite well. Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, listens ” Young Dumb, Broke From Khalid, a completely indicated title for the one who took 25 years in prison.

Knowing the songs listened to by these very specific Spotify users does not reveal much about the privacy of these personalities. In fact, it is not really a vulnerability of Spotify, rather an involuntary reflection of the personality of certain VIPs!

This case is above all a reminder of not neglecting the SPOTIFY settings. It is thus possible (or even desirable) to activate the “private” option for the reading lists. All the playlists then created will therefore be deprived, but unfortunately not those created before. It will therefore be necessary to modify them one by one by hand.
