Melina RochatA Vaudoise in the final of an international beauty competition
The Vaudois model Melina Rochat reached the great final of the “Face of Europe” competition. She tells us about her motivations to participate.
La Vaudoise has been a professional model since 2019.
DRThis August 14, 2025 at 7 p.m., the final of the international beauty competition “Face of Europe” will be held in Europa Park. Among the finalists, we find Melina Rochat. The 27 -year -old Vaudois model, who represents Switzerland, told us how she had prepared for the competition.
What motivated you to participate in “Face of Europe”?
This competition represents much more than a simple event: it is a platform that values the routes, the values and the personalities. I saw in “Face of Europe” an opportunity to surpass myself, get out of my comfort zone and carry an authentic message. To participate is also to say that beauty can be engaged, benevolent and plural.
What does it mean to say that we are Switzerland ambassador at the heart of Europe?
I think that my journey reflects certain Swiss values well: precision, respect, discretion and commitment. But I am also open to the world, curious and deeply human. Being an ambassador is to embody an identity while being able to dialogue with other cultures – and that’s exactly what I am trying to do.
How did you get prepared for the grand finale?
I worked on several aspects: posture, self -confidence, stress management, but also on the substance – my values, my message, what I want to transmit. I took care of myself, physically and mentally, to be in a good balance. And above all, I surrounded myself with positive people who supported me in this process.
Did you have to make “sacrifices” to participate in this competition?
Yes, I put in parentheses certain professional obligations, reorganized my schedule, and invested in time and energy in this preparation. But I do not see it as a sacrifice, rather as a choice that I fully assume, because it makes me grow.
To what extent is this competition a way for you to get a message across?
It is a powerful way to say that each woman can dare, assert herself and reveal herself. My message is that of authenticity: be yourself, believe in your value, and don’t be afraid to assert yourself with gentle and strength. I want to show that we can be committed, benevolent and ambitious without denying who we are.
Have you thought about what you would do in the event of a victory?
Yes of course. It would be immense pride, but also a responsibility. I would put this visibility in the service of causes that are close to my heart-in particular animal welfare, education and valuation of atypical routes. And I would continue to carry a positive, accessible and sincere message.
How do you feel like your participation in “Face of Europe” can inspire young Swiss?
It is an idea that touches me deeply. If my journey can encourage other young people to believe in them, think of the beaten track and dare, then I would have already won something precious. To inspire is to transmit an energy, a confidence – and I would be honored to be able to do so.
Professional model since 2019, Melina Rochat paraded in Paris Fashion Week, in Milan, and collaborated with brands like The Kooples, Calida or Rossignol. “In parallel, I participated in several audiovisual projects: series, short films and advertisements, which allowed me to explore other forms of expression and strengthen my presence in front of the camera,” she specifies. Assets which she intends to use for “Face of Europe”.
