The UDC does not want the electronic identity subject to vote on September 28. Party delegates, gathered in Schaffhouse, rejected 241 votes against 52 on Saturday to this project. They also said a non -massive to “the initiative for the future” of young socialists.
(Keystone-ATS) The delegates followed in particular the arguments of the president of young UDC Nils Fiechter, who judged the project of digital identity “dangerous, liberticide and useless”. The arguments of the project proponents, presented by the national councilor Gerhard Andrey (Vert-ES/FR), had less echo.
Mr. Fiechter considered that this voting on E-ID was a denial of direct democracy. In 2021, the Swiss people had clearly rejected a first project of this type. “The fact that we were to, four years later, again fighting there is a deliberate wear tactic,” he denounced.
The UDC also rejected the “initiative for the future” of young socialists, subject to vote on November 30, with an even clearer majority. The text requires a federal tax of 50% on the share of successions of more than 50 million, in order to finance measures to respond to the climate emergency.
