A really rare finesse
What distinguishes this Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge from other models in the S25 range is obviously its incredible finesse. Its thickness of only 5.8 mm is enough to make it unique on the market and to make it deserve this label of ultra-premium smartphone. However, its pill -shaped photo module passes this thickness from 5.8 mm to 10.2 mm on the top of the device; What make it very little stable when laid on a table, for example …
On the finishes side, these are not very surprised, and we even take advantage of a good solidity with the titanium setting and the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass on the back. At the front, it is a Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 who protects the slab from scratches and shocks. The whole is supplemented by an IP68 certification, which makes it resistant to water and dust.
Regarding the screen, we are entitled to a nice 6.7 -inch QHD slab, refreshed at 120 Hz LTPO and HDR10+compatible. It also shines with its high light, greater than that of S25 Plus, in SDR (1,368 Nits) as in HDR (2,430 nits), but less on the side of color loyalty.
A software longevity always so reassuring
For performance, the S25 EDGE is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, supported by 12 GB of RAM. No slowdown is to be deplored when using the smartphone, navigation is fluid and in play, the device is doing very well. On the other hand, when the use continues, the power of the smartphone decreases considerably and its very fine design largely limits its cooling, the brand having made the SOC broken to help it lower in temperature. On the software side, we obviously take advantage of all the artificial intelligence features of Galaxy AI, but also from the seven years of major updates and security promised by the manufacturer.
On the other hand, the photo part is a bit disappointing. A also fine design has obviously made it impossible to install three sensors, including a telephoto lens. We must therefore be satisfied with a large angle of 200 Mpx and an ultra-angle of 12 Mpx. If the first is simply excellent and offers ultra-birth shots, the absence of optical zoom is regrettable.
To finish with autonomy, the S25 Edge is struggling. Its 3,900 mAh battery (against 4,900 mAh on the S25+ of the same size) does not always allow it to hold a full day. And the load is not even fast enough.
