Veo 3, the creator of videos with generative, is now available in several European countries, including our dish. This tool would be, in all likelihood, at the origin of a series of appalling videos on Tiktok.
The new Google video creation tool is also also available in Europe. You can use it provided you have subscribed an AI Pro subscription. Its cost: 22 euros per month. The software allows you to generate videos with sound and speech, and represents a big step forward in terms of quality for automatically generated videos.
Veo 3 has already been launched in 71 countries in May and the videos you make with this software will be stamped with a watermark. The MediaMatters analysis organization notes that the streaming platforms such as Tiktok are now flooded with racist videos generated with Veo 3. These are in particular videos that repeat stereotypes concerning dark skin (evoking monkeys and crime) and which target immigrants or Jews.
Google (and Tiktok) has (have) set up rules prohibiting this type of videos, but its (their) approach seems to be a plaster on a wooden leg. Depending on the prompt, any AI model often refuses to generate a film that pays in excessive stigma. However, it must be recognized that this balance is at the very least wobbly for Veo 3.
