The Qi2 standard of wireless load continues to evolve, with the arrival of a Qi2.2.1 version, which offers 25 W load accounts.
The Wireless Power Consortium has just unveiled the Qi2.2.1 standard. This evolution of the Qi2 makes the maximum load power pass from 15 to 25W, or 10W more.
It is now the turn of the Wireless Power Consortium to formalize this compatibility of the Qi2 to a load power up to 25W, via the Qi2.2.1 version.
The Wireless Power Consortium also indicates that the main Android smartphones will support 25W via Qi2, without mentioning any agenda.
This list of compatible devices (not communicated) will be added to that of Apple’s iPhone and its Magsafe. Several hundred devices are on the way to being tested to receive the Qi2 25W certification in the coming months.
